Edison middle school teacher charged with possession of child pornography

EDISON, N.J., Aug. 30 (ZFJ) — Edison middle school teacher Julius Coaccioli, 55, was arrested and charged with third-degree possession of child pornography on Wednesday, Aug. 30, announced Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Woodbridge Police Department Director Robert Hubner.
Coaccioli taught science at Woodrow Wilson Middle School at the time of his arrest. According to public payroll records, he has worked for the Edison Board of Education since September 1992.
Coaccioli was charged with possessing under 1,000 child sexual abuse images after the New Jersey State Police referred a cyber tip to Ciccone’s office.
The case was investigated by Detective Ken McGarry of the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and Detective Stephanie Redline of the Special Victims Unit, both of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Coaccioli was arrested Wednesday at his home in Woodbridge Township without incident.
Dr. Edward Aldarelli, superintendent of Edison Township Public Schools, said that Coaccioli was placed on administrative leave and barred from all school grounds pending further court proceedings upon notification of the arrest, reported NJ.com.
